SHOW SEASON RESULTS
Indiana Ranch Horse 2011Year End Awards went to Ron and Skeets San Peppy for Class Champion All Age Reining and All Age Working Cow Horse.
Cheryl and Annie Oh Quixote received Reserve Class Champion Amateur Mares 3 and Over and Cheryl and HAR Hesa Fancy Texan received Reserve Class Champion Jr Horse Ranch Riding.
At the double judged show in New Castle, In. Oct 15-16, Skeets San Peppy and Ron placed first out of nine competitors in the All Age (Open) Ranch Reining under both judges. They picked up a first and a second place finish in the All Age Working Cow Horse.
Annie Oh Quixote and Cheryl Bluett won Grand Champion Amateur Mare under one judge and Reserve Grand Champion Mare under the other. "Annie" was shown at halter three times this year and earns one Grand and two Reserve titles!
HAR Hesa Fancy Texan and Cheryl earned second under one judge and third under the other in Junior Horse Ranch Riding. They also competed in Amateur Working Cow Horse for the first time and earned a third place finish. A great job for their first time "down the fence".
RC Performance Horses had a good showing at the September ARHA show in Rochester, Indiana. The weekend started off with Annie Oh Quixote taking 2nd in 3 & Over Amatuer Halter Mares and Reserve Champion Amateur Halter Mare over all. Cheryl and HAR Heza Fancy Texan followed up with a 2nd in Amateur Ranch Riding, a second in Amateur Trail and a 3rd in Junior Ranch Riding.
Cheryl and Heza Fancy Texan continued to improve their pleasure placings at the Boone County Horseman's Association show on August 20th. They were second place in the Adult Walk/Trot and third place in Western Pleasure - Junior Horses.
Cheryl and Heza Fancy Texan (Frankie) took first place in reining at the Tippecanoe County Horse and Pony open show on July 9th. Frankie also had a consistent 4th place in 3 different pleasure classes. Not bad for a Reiner.
At the June 18-19 ARHA show in Rochester, Indiana, Ron rode Skeets San Peppy to a second place finish in All Age (Open) Working Cow Horse and a third place finish in All Age Ranch Reining. Cheryl rode HAR Heza Fancy Texan to fourth of 13 in the All Age (Open) Junior Ranch Riding. She also had several other top ten finishes.
Our 2011 show season started in New Castle, Indiana on May 14th at the ARHA show hosted by the Indiana Ranch Horse Association. Ron rode Skeets San Peppy (Buster) in only his second horse show. It was their first time competing in All Age Ranch Reining and All Age Working Cow Horse. They won first place in both competitions! Way to go Buster! Buster displayed a tremendous willingness to work the cows - very "cowy".
Cheryl and HAR Hesa Fancy Texan (Frankie) did well. They were 2nd in Amatuer Horsemanship and finished 4th in Open Junior Ranch Riding, Amatuer Trail, and Amatuer Ranch Reining.
